 Why This Exists

I grew up watching entrepreneurship from the inside. My father, Marvin Junior, lead singer of The Dells and Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee, built a career and a legacy through craft, consistency, and an unshakeable understanding of his audience. My mother built an award-winning salon from the ground up. I watched both of them read signals before I had a name for what they were doing.

Then Frank Mingo and Debra Thomas of The Mingo Group sat with me after hours and taught me to calculate metrics longhand. That discipline followed me through Grey Advertising, Ogilvy, Stedman Graham and Partners, and across more than two decades of marketing, media, and strategy at the highest levels of the industry.

What I learned in those rooms — the analytical thinking, the signal reading, the structured decision-making — it was never meant to stay in those rooms.
